After studying Art at the Croydon Art College and earning her Bachelors Degree in Printed Textiles from Manchester Polytechnic, at the age of twenty-three Katy was given the opportunity of a lifetime. She was awarded a spot to represent Britain at the Design Council of London by the Royal College of Art Texprint Show in Frankfurt, Germany. This was a tremendous feat for such a young, fresh designer but Katy proved to be a force in the industry. This opportunity summoned a snowball of success for the young designer.
